The following are some questions to ask or issues to consider:

  • Are you just looking for some extra income? If you are looking for something more, to build a substantial business, you will most certainly need to recruit a large number of distributors and not just sell the product.

  • What do you know about the company? How long has it been in business? Does it have a good track record? Who are the people behind it?

  • Is the company only interested in recruiting members or distributors? Is it the way to make money rather than the selling of products?

  • Make sure you see all of the company's written materials before signing up - the distributor who is trying to recruit you may not show you the whole picture.

  • Can you make repeat sales? If the product is a non-consumable item, then a regular introduction of new products would help to increase sales.

  • If the operation is long-established and successful, you may find that a lot of potential customers have already seen and bought the product.

  • Who are the customers? Do you move in their circles?

  • What kind of financial commitment is expected from you? Does the company require you to buy a large amount of products upfront?
