About Money'Money makes the world goes round'. This is what most of the people believe in. Certainly, with money, we have more options. The decision making process is definitely shorter and easier if our financial background is strong enough. Logically, one may think, 'I can live a better life if I had more money'. In many occasions, it may not happen this way. By just pursuing more money does not necessarily get us to the life we want. We heard some people said, "with money, you can buy a house but not a home; you can buy expensive watches but not time; you can buy status but not respect etc..." That indicates money is not ultimate. The dollars and cents have got to be related to something which make us feel good or proud of in our life. Hence, Life Planning comes in. Life PlanningWhat is Life Planning? Is it similar to the term Financial Planning which is more well known to most of the people? The term Life Planning has different meanings to different people. If we take the financial approach, Life Planning is a bridge linking our life goals to financial planning. Whatever specific goals or unique dreams one has, they have to be fulfilled with the aid of money. Personal health, a happy family, self-development, contribution to the society, peace of mind etc can be achieved with a healthy financial base.
Take personal health as an example.
Assume that one of your life goals is to keep yourself in excellent
health condition at all time. Besides keeping good habits (sleep well,
exercise more etc), you may need to spend a little bit more to get some
health food or supplements, more frequent health
check and spend more to get better healthcare when you are sick. You
may want to avoid being overworked, even though you know by doing that,
you may get more money. Everything comes with a price. Deferred gratification may be involved, but if that means putting yourself in a right track to achieve your life goals, you can expect a beautiful life ahead! |
